Cosmetic dentistry has become increasingly popular over the years, and with recent innovations within this area, you can transform your smile very easily. At One Dental Group, we offer a range of professional cosmetic dentistry services at our clinic, and will work closely with you to establish the
Used to replace missing teeth, whether from decay, damage, or any other reason, dental bridges can restore your smile to its best. If you opt for a dental bridge, you cannot only expect a better smile but also purposeful improvements such as chewing, speech, and overall oral health.
What is a Dental Bridge?
A dental bridge is made by attaching crowns to your existing teeth (like an anchor) and holding the false tooth in place acting as a bridge between the crowns. We always recommend that if you have missing teeth, you should contact your dentist immediately, as replacing them will positively contribute to the overall health and function of your mouth.
Quality Dental Crowns
Aside from cosmetic purposes, crowns are generally fitted when the tooth in question is damaged too much to benefit from a normal filling. Whether your teeth are badly decayed, have suffered trauma, or have previously been heavily filled, there are various reasons why a crown might be the best choice for you.
If you require or request a dental crown from One Dental Group, you can expect the best quality crowns, fitted by our team of experienced dentists. With this quality comes durability, toughness, and ultimately, enhanced performance of the crown.
You may also suffer from micro-cracking, where old amalgam fillings begin to crack around a filled tooth, or you may have undergone root canal therapy. Crowns can last for many years if fitted properly using quality materials. At One Dental Group, that’s exactly what you’ll get.
What is a dental crown?
A dental crown fits over an existing tooth, which has become weakened by decay or damage, and is available in porcelain and zirconia. Once fitted, they strengthen your tooth and, if you choose porcelain or zirconia, the crown will be colour-matched with the rest of your teeth so it will go unnoticed.
Dental crowns have proven to be one of the most long lasting types of dental treatment, and with new technology have also evolved into a popular cosmetic option for our patients. With One Dental Group’s services, we can make crowns to improve a patient’s smiles in just one visit.
Porcelain fused to metal – The most commonly used crown, these are great for use on back teeth.
Non-metal – One Dental Group is one of very few dental practices with the ability to make beautiful aesthetic crowns. These crowns have a much better appearance than conventional crowns. All porcelain and zirconia crowns are biocompatible, so the body accepts them more easily. We colour match all our work to your tooth shade so the crowns blend beautifully with the rest of your teeth.
Fitting a crown
When fitting a crown, our dentist will reduce the size of the existing tooth just enough to place the crown on top, which will be two weeks afterwards. The timescale depends on the type of crown chosen. Once you have your crown in place, our team will make sure you have all the information you need to maintain it properly. If you are interested in dental crowns, contact your One Dental Group for a more natural looking smile.
High quality dentures provide comfort, confidence and optimum function while having a natural look to enhance your smile and facial appearance.
Having a local prosthetist means that your dentist and dental technician can work together to ensure that the teeth and gums (which provide the denture “foundations”) are sound and that your long term oral health has been considered in the denture design. This gives you the ultimate in total patient care. Dentures don’t last forever. Once your teeth have been lost, the bone that supports your dentures is constantly remodelled by the body. As a result, the contour of the mouth that the denture is designed to suction against can change dramatically over a number of years, which is why you need to have a new denture made every five to seven years.
Dentures are made of a remarkably resilient material, but they don’t respond well to sudden, hard forces such as being dropped onto porcelain sinks or tiled floors. As dentures age and become poorly fitting, they can also be stressed by continual flexing while in use, which results in small cracks that can fracture over time. At One Dental Group we offer an emergency denture repair service, allowing us to repair your dentures the same day.
Cosmetic Valplast Dentures
Valplast flexible partial dentures are an aesthetic, comfortable and affordable alternative for tooth replacement. Flexibility, combined with strength and light weight provides total comfort and great looks for any dental patient. Valplast are metal free. The natural tissue blend effect, with a translucency exclusive to Valplast picks up on the patient’s natural tissue tone making them look more natural.
Acrylic dentures are usually the most cost effective and can be made within a short period of time. Other advantages are that they can be relined, added to (in case you lose any more natural teeth) and can be used as a temporary denture before dental implants, or whilst waiting for chrome dentures. Some of the disadvantages are that the acrylic denture base is slightly weaker due to its irregular shape and tend to break frequently, especially those made for the lower arch. In order to counteract this, the acrylic is usually built quite thickly, which can take a little extra time to get used to.
Chrome dentures, however, are more a long term material for a denture, as the frame and required components are all cast in one piece. This is just one of the many advantages chrome dentures have over acrylic dentures. Due to the strength of the chrome it can be made in a smaller, more efficient design, making it more comfortable to wear and live with, whilst giving you the security of knowing it has less chance of breakage.
A dental implant is an artificial root that can be used to support one or more teeth. Implants are the most progressive and natural option in single and multiple tooth replacement. If you are missing a single tooth or many teeth, dental implants may be the perfect solution for you.
Dental implants can replace teeth that have been missing since birth and those that have been lost due to gum disease, infection, trauma, or decay. State-of- the- art technology allows implants to provide predictable, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing results while remaining independent of neighboring teeth.
One of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments is teeth whitening, which restores the natural brightness of your teeth for a more dazzling smile. Whether your teeth are discoloured from wine, smoking, or something else, teeth whitening is a very effective and simple way to achieve a more youthful smile. At One Dental Group we love giving people a beautiful “Hollywood” smile and pride ourselves on offering the best whitening system for our patients, in a day spa environment.
At One Dental Group, we offer Zoom whitening to our patients, which is perhaps the most well-known teeth whitening brand worldwide. In-chair treatment uses a whitening gel with a 25% concentration of peroxide, while chair-side whitening utilises a proprietary blue light, which stimulates the whitening process. We also give you complimentary take-home Zoom kit to help you to maintain your new smile.
